New working demo versions of ARTchive - a multimedia database
program for both Mac and Windows PC environments are finally
available. A sample collection is provided with the demo consisting
of 15 art objects from Burma.

Please point your web browser to:

or access the demo via anonymous ftp at: ftp.husk.com/pub2/artchive

ARTchive is a relational multimedia database program that was developed
to support my image collection of ancient Burmese artifacts. My
database is quite small by most readers standards (6,000+ images,
movies and maps) but sufficiently large to require some system for
image retrieval based on keywords. The method used in ARTchive is
to search on the keyword field (or any of the other curatorial fields)
to display a text captioned group of images. Browsing the
grouped images, an image of interest is selected by a pointing
device (mouse). The full data set and images for the particular
image is then displayed.
