Wondering if anyone can help me with a painting I have at home...

I recently acquired an oil on canvas painting which had been kept outside for
quite some time. The canvas is quite large and dirty from being exposed to
the elements. It also appears to have some mold on it (brown), although I
couldn't be certain if they are active spores.

Aside from taking it to a conservator, does anyone have a suggestion as to
what I could do to "clean it up"?

Sarah
