Well if you are going that far, visit General George C. Marshall's library
in Lexington and the great Civil War Museum at VMI, also Lexington, and
Lee's Chapel in Lexington - and the Stonewall Jackson House, Lexington. Go
up the valley to New Market and there are three great Civil War museums
there. Virginia takes good care of their history. Richmond has great
museums. How about checking on the web for Virginia as a tourist. Virginia
is a nice place to visit and even better place to live.

The closest university is Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, VA - I'm not sure of
what
they have in the way of museum studies. Hollins College in Roanoke may
offer
something, though I can't remember how far Roanoke is from Wytheville.
Radford
College is in the area and there are several other private colleges (that
used
to be all girl schools) that may offer courses - Chatam College and Averett
are
two names I remember. Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, VA has
an
art history department and they may have distance learning and the same may
be
true of the University of Virginia in Charlottesville. Mary Baldwin in
Staunton another place to check for distance learning. Yes, Wytheville is
in
the mountains. I don't know how far it is from the U. of West VA - that may
be
another possibility.

Hi all. It is possible my husband is about to be transferred to Wytheville,
VA.
What universities around that area are available for museum studies,
distance or
other courses? Any of you know where Wytheville is? VERY far west, almost
into
WV. An hour in any given direction would take you into another state.

Any help would be appreciated.
