Hi Kay,

Try a Pro DVX F 100 - runs around $250 .  Digitize your video put the 
video on a compact flash card and insert the card in the player.  Plays 
mpeg1 or 2. It  is solid state so it will not wear out easily.  It has 
play once or repeat capability and a remote so, as you say, just push a 
button.
