We have several programs in place for our children. The government gives a child tax benefit cheque to families with children and the amount is based on your pay scale as well as the age of the child but those who need it most, do get a decent amount. We also have a program for families that qualify as under the poverty line so the children get free health and dental care. All children in Canada get their eye exams paid for as well.

Tim,
I knew there was a reason that I loved my experiences with Canada and Canadians. It also explains why there is so much less anger, envy and rudeness evidenced up there. Down here, instead of helping families (or museums) we would rather spend the money in killing hundreds of thousands of Iraquis, who never did a thing to us.If it wasn't for the fact that my wife is allergic to the cold and snow, I would be joining y'all for a glass of Molson's. So it goes. Peace, Nick
