You need to get a qualified professional conservator with expertise with
painted native American archaeological remains to do a thorough examination and
stabilization of this important find.

Nothing can be considered about how to exhibit this or indeed if it should be
exhibited at all until a professional assessment of its condition is done.

I would suggest that you go to the AIC (American Institute for Conservation)
web site at:
http://aic.stanford.edu/

Go to the public information link - selecting a conservator - and follow that
to the free Guide to Services.
