Hi Valerie,
The Mission Houses Museum in Honolulu has a library that shares the same
Reading Room with the library of the Hawaiian Historical Society. They are
separate organizations, with separate staff and processing areas. Their
collections are kept on two different sides of the library. The Museum
itself has a separate area for its collections. It is a rather unusual
situation, but has worked well for both organizations for many years. It's
actually great for researchers because they actually have two great
resources under one roof.

I'm sure the librarians at both places would be happy to share their
experiences with you. Their websites are:
www.missionhouses.org
www.hawaiianhistory.org
