There are also the books by Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child, like The
Cabinet of Curiosities and Relic (the basis of a movie made a few years ago)
where much of the action takes place in a natural history museum. Preston
used to work at the Museum of Natural History in New York and he writes well
about the politics of museums and the potential mania in collecting. The
books are a bit gruesome, but fun!
