The Tech Museum of Innovation
Part-Time Openings
IMAX Theater Console Operator

The mission of The Tech Museum of Innovation is to serve as an educational
resource that engages people of all ages and backgrounds in exploring and
experiencing technologies affecting their lives, and to inspire young
people to become innovators in developing technologies of the future.

The Console Operator's primary responsibilities are to operate and be
proficient with the IMAX Media Control Console and Spice Media Automation
system, to monitor sound and image quality throughout the run of a film,
and to work collaboratively with other IMAX staff to maintain the highest
quality in The Tech's Hackworth IMAX Theater. The Tech currently has three
openings for the Console Operator position.

Responsibilities:
- Enthusiastically meet the educational and entertainment needs of the
museum guest.
- Work with the IMAX team to present the best possible presentation.
- Monitor and maintain show quality.
- Learn and become proficient at the "Spice" media automation system
software and help code these presentations.
- Explain the ideas and concepts of IMAX technology to museum guests in an
infectious and enthusiastic fashion.
- Competently and efficiently operate the theater Media Control system in
all situations.
- In the event of an emergency, assist with all necessary  crisis management.
- Perform other duties as assigned.


Requirements:
- A strong commitment to providing quality IMAX presentations for museum's
guests.
- A strong interest in learning about technology and conveying what you
have learned to others.
- Computer literate; knowledge of DOS and troubleshooting skills desirable
but not required.
- IMAX or conventional theater experience helpful.
- Must be willing to work weekends, evenings, and holidays.
- Punctual, reliable and flexible to the museum's and guests' needs.


Hours:  Approximately 20 hours per week
