Dear Marcia and interested Listers:

If you are still looking for the location of the bar.  I'm not
sure, but it could be the Owl Bar in the Belvedere Hotel
in Baltimore.  There is a scrolling proverb over the
bar there, maybe it's the one you're looking for.

Everybody should go there, BTW, when you're
visiting Baltimore for the AAM in a couple of weeks.
The food and atmosphere are great.  And they have
these "yards" of beer that art too big to sit on the
table.  You have to drink the whole yard in one swig,
or you get a splash on the face as you place the
glass down.  It's a hoot!

The Belvedere is the near the
Maryland Historical Society, in
or near the historic Mt. Vernon district.
That's about a 20 minute walk
uptown from the convention center.
