I wonder why you've been so silent. Was this a faux pas, possibly a
strange joke you meant to send to a friend rather than the list? Would you
like to defend yourself? I, and I'm sure others, wonder why, after being
critisized so soundly for your remarks, you haven't written to defend
yourself, or at least your opinion. Perhaps you're embarrassed? I'd like
to think somehow you didn't intend your remarks to be interpreted in the
way they have, but how are we to know if you remain silent? While I
believe in your right to speak your mind, I think people on the list would
be fair in expecting some sort of explanation for your words. (Not to
mention that I would want to speak in defense of myself, were I in your
shoes.)
