The horse industry makes powder coated metal saddle storage racks. I
have included a link to a powder coated three saddle steel rack that
bolts to a wall and slides out for easy access to each saddle, but there
are a lot of options out there. Search the various horse equipment
supply companies. Then, you can add extra padding to the metal systems
and drape the whole thing with Tyvek, muslin, or another covering
material. Of course, which type of rack you use depends on the size and
style of saddle.

Hope this helps!

Subject: [MUSEUM-L] Saddle storage

Hello,

At my museum we have five saddles which are currently stored in flat
drawers. I know this is bad, and I am finally able to get proper
storage.
I was wondering how some of you store your saddles: either custom
ordered
cabinets or self made systems or even retrofitting current storage
cabinets. Space is somewhat limited in the storage facility (isn't it
always?), but due to the small number of saddles it's not a huge issue.

Thanks in advance for any responses,
Elizabeth
