1. UV Films can be laminated to windows,
2. UV films can be mounted on frames and set into window openings inside or out
3. rigid UV-absorbing acrylic sheet (Rohm & Haas) can be cut and glazed in
to replace traditional window glass
4. Lexan polycarbonate  plastic (UV-absorbing) can be cut and set into frames
5. In historic houses, traditional roller blinds,  shutters, curtains can
be used as they were intended in the first place (to keep out sun, etc)
6. a conservator can be engaged to advise on these matters
