We're offering a paid college undergraduate internship working with the
collections at The Sixth Floor Museum this summer.  I've cut and pasted the
job description below (please forgive any wacky formatting...).  If you

The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza in Dallas, Texas is a non-profit
museum dedicated to educating visitors about the life, times, death and
legacy of President John F. Kennedy.  Due to a generous grant from Exxon
Corporation, The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza will be offering a paid
internship to one lucky undergraduate for the fourth year in a row.

JOB DESCRIPTION
Assign accession numbers and catalogue items from the Dallas Times Herald
and Tom Dillard Collections. Includes: developing a detailed, physical
description of the item; taking specific measurements of the item;
documenting the source of the donation; placing a registration number on
each item; documenting the storage location of the item in the archives;
entering this information into the collections database; scanning and
digitizing images; and linking digital images to the appropriate database
records.
Assist members of the Interpretation Team in processing items in Museum
collections.
Participate in weekly Interpretation Team meetings.
Interact with Museum visitors, collections donors and potential donors, as
appropriate.
Assist the Registrar and other members of the Interpretation Team as
required.

REQUIREMENTS
Must be an undergraduate student who has completed freshman year and will
be returning as a full-time student in the fall of 1998.
Must be computer literate.  Prefer a working knowledge of Access or a
comparable database, and Microsoft 97 software package.  (Word, Excel,
etc.)
Preference will be given to students majoring in History, Museum Studies or
a related field.
Must be available to work 8 weeks (beginning last week of May) for 35 hours
per week.  Internship pays $2,000.00 total in gross wages.
