I suppose it's possible that the second C is meant to indicate that the
dates are based on calibrated radiocarbon dates, although gregorianised
radiocarbon dates are usually written b.c./a.d. when uncalibrated and
B.C./A.D. when calibrated.

But if Jay has seen the second C elsewhere as an indicator of the dating
system, I'd bet with him.
