Dear list members,

The Catherine J. Smith Gallery at Appalachian State University in Boone, NC
is currently featuring the exhibition "Origins of the Species...ist:
examining issues surrounding the hierarchy of animals." Sue Coe,
internationally acclaimed artist-illustrator-activist, served as juror for
this national exhibit. As part of the exhibition we have developed a film
series, a lecture by Sue Coe, studio critiques with Sue Coe, and a debate
focusing on the use of animals in research (medical or product
development). This debate is scheduled for October 4 in Boone. Dr. Ray
Greek of Kansas City will speak on the side against the use of animals in
research....unfortunately, or pro animals in research person just withdrew.

If any list member knows of a person that might be qualified and interested
in participating in such a debate (on such short notice), please contact me
by email asap. Thanks for your time and consideration in this matter!

(: Hank :)
