A colleague and I are trying to research clothing made using
basketry materials and techniques. What we are finding is - NOT
MUCH. We are interested in such clothing from any and all parts of
the world. If your museum has such objects in its collections, or if
you have any bibliographic resources that you would share we would be
interested in knowing about them. Hats are easy, although we
wouldlike to go beyond the well known Pacific Northwest Coast and Asian
exanples. If you are not sure whether what you have is what we
would consider basketry materials/techniques please contact us
anyway.
(By way of establishing credentials for conducting research, if
that's necessary, we are both long time textile researchers, basket
weavers, and museum professionals.)
We hope our interest piques yours enough to let us know what's 'out there'.
We'll be in touch and thanks for any help you can give.

Mariana
