TYPE OF MENTOR SOUGHT

Someone in museum education who can help me find
contacts to get back into the museum education field
in the Washington Metro area

CONTRACT PATRICIAL BY EMAIL AT:
[log in to unmask]

MEET PATRICIA McDOUGALL!

I NEED A MENTOR - and I am not sure where to look.

I had my first museum job in 1990 as an internship in
college and have been hooked ever since.

I graduated in 1991 with a BA in Art History and then
waited another 4 years before I began my graduate
work. I now have an MA is Museum Education.

All through graduate school I worked for a small art
museum being a docent and teacher and I loved every
minute of it. It would have been a dream job, if only
it had been full time.

May be I'm not so young, or young in the field, but, I
moved to Maryland about 4 1/2 years ago and have been
struggling through other museum jobs. (Without benefit
or having been to school down here, or having done an
internship down here.) Without a mentor to give me a
foot in the door in the Washington Metro area, it's
hard to break into a good Museum Education position.
As you all know, this is an extremely competitive
field, in this area especially.

If someone could please help me to find a way to get
into an Associate Museum Educator position, I would be
eternally grateful!
