Responsibilities: As chief executive, the Director reports to the Board of Trustees and
oversees all museum operations.  Specific responsibilities of the hands-on Director
include supervising the small staff, annual goal setting and budget development,
collections management, exhibitions and programs strategies, grant writing and funding
strategies, and external relations.

Qualifications: The successful candidate will have an understanding of museum
administration,  the fire service and its history, and an awareness of New York City
history. The candidate must have experience in not-for-profit administration, proven
fund-raising and planning skills, outstanding communications and marketing skills,
imagination, determination and leadership.
