Events Coordinator

The Peabody Museum of Natural History, Yale University seeks an experienced
person to serve as Events Coordinator.  Under the direction of the Director
of the Museum and reporting to the Board of Curators, the Events
Coordinator determines and sets the overall calendar of events relevant to
the subject areas of the Museum, natural history and anthropology, and in
recognition of the Museum's goal to serve and attract a broad and diverse
audience.
The successful candidate will collaborate with Museum staff and pertinent
outside resources to:
implement fundraising events; prepare publications and marketing materials;
oversee the preparation support materials for individual events, including
written, oral and multimedia presentations.
The Events Coordinator conducts the day-to-day functions of the events
program, including preparation of annual schedule, presentation of plans
for staff allocation, and the development of the annual events budget;
supervises and coordinates staff and other relevant personnel within the
Museum, the University and the larger community as necessary to implement
Museum events; serves as liaison of the Museum to individual University and
community events, committees and other organizations as needed.

Bachelor's Degree in related scientific field required (Master's Degree
preferred); 3 years experience in program planning, events coordination,
educational programs or public relations, or equivalent combination of
education and experience.  Museum experience preferred. Attendance at
weekend/evening events required.


Full time position, 37.5 hours/week.  Yale offers a competitive salary and
