I have used NOMENCLATURE in several museums and have found it to be a
concise and servicable system.  IT DOES HAVE ITS QUIRKS.  There are
numerous categories that are weak in object names.

The other system to investigate would be the Getty's Art & Archetechture
Thesaurus.  It is quite voluminous and detailed but volunteers may have
trouble with it,
