I am resurrecting an old thread to follow-up on any museums still providing mp3 players for visitors, for audio tours. Our typical audience tends to not be tech-savvy, so we aren't assuming everyone has an iPhone to listen to our podcasts on. I understand that some museums provide sound sticks, but I've heard that purchase agreements often include extra fees whenever the podcast must be changed/updated.

Are there any museums out there still distributing mp3 players at their front desks? Have you encountered lots of damaged mp3 players (hardware as well as programming), stolen ones, etc? Thank you for considering!
