A week or so ago, someone was talking about recreating an early 19th century
wedding in an historic property.

Quite by accident, I learned this afternoon of an interesting heritage site
in Ontario that has done this annually for 4 years and it is very popular
with the public. A call to its curator could probably give you some useful
help.

Battlefield House is a large, late 18th century historic house located on
the battlefield of one of the battles of the War of 1812-14. Not large, it
has an active program of exhibitions, demonstrations, reenactments, etc.,
etc., and is very popular with heritage interpreters of all types.

The person to contact is their Curator, Susan Ramsay, at:

Battlefield House Museum
PO Box 66561
Stoney Creek
Ontario
L8G 5E5

voice: (905) 662-8458
fax: (905) 662-0529

Battlefield House's major event is on June 5 & 6, 1999. If you are within
driving range of the Niagara frontier, take it in.
