Director of Development and Marketing.  The new 175,000 sf Bob Bullock Texas State History Museum, opening in April 2001, will include an IMAX® Theater, Special Effects and Storytelling Theater, Café, Store, Temporary Exhibit Gallery (7,000sf), and 34,000 sf of media, interactive, immersive and traditional exhibit experiences. The Director of Development and Marketing will be responsible for the start-up, establishment and implementation of a comprehensive development program which supports the mission and operations of the  Museum.  With the Director and Museum management team, she/he will lead the design strategy for all aspects of the program including major gifts and patron programs, donor cultivation, planned giving initiatives, and corporate and individual membership programs.  Supervises marketing/public relations, membership and special events/facility rental staff.  B.A. in Business, Marketing, or related with six years of successful, progressively responsible, and proven development experience for a museum or related non-profit institution.  Proven track record in developing innovative funding strategies and successful grant proposals.  Demonstrated knowledge of philanthropic community, non-profit membership programs, marketing/public relations, and grant writing skills.  Knowledge of computer-based development management tools.  Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines and, to work well with others in a team situation.  Prefer Master's degree in Business, Marketing, or related area with more than eight years of successful development experience;  Experience in start-up programs for high-visibility, high-traffic institutions;  and established relationships with Texas philanthropic organizations.
