Dear List,

Mother Nature has paid us another visit in the early hours of the morning. While Humberto didn't pack nearly the punch as Rita did in 2005, there are power outages and flooded streets.

I have power at home just a block away, so I can send this short notice that we at the McFaddin-Ward House lost power on part of the complex but that's all. I don't know about other museums in Galveston or Port Arthur.

It made landfall as a Category 1 storm. And while the extent of the wind and rain was a surprise to newscasters, the MWH was prepared. The museum is fine.

Hope to hear that other museums are ok too.

Ware
