Association of Midwest Museums/Wisconsin Federation of Museums
Annual Conference
"Building the Museum"
November 5-8, 2003
Milwaukee, Wisconsin
www.midwestmuseums.org

To those colleagues in the midwestern region and beyond:

We sincerely hope you are planning to join us this year in Milwaukee for
what promises to be an exceptional annual conference. No matter what role
you play in your museum, this conference has something to offer. Educators,
executives, administrators, archivists, designers, development
professionals, curators, registrars, support staff, marketers, and more - we
have one thing in common: We're "Building the Museum".

This year's conference will explore everythig that we "build" together:
relationships, audiences, momentum, new systems, new facilities, new
programs and on and on. Over 150 talented and engaging presenters. Over 50
invigorating sessions and events. For four days in November, hundreds of
professionals like you will gather in Milwaukee for three simple purposes:

* Learn from peers and experts how to do your job more effectively and how
to meet your current challenges

* Make and renew connections with other museum professionals to build your
network of colleagues who can help you meet challenges to come.

* Rejuvenate and remind yourself why you do this in the first place.

Because you make a difference -WE make a difference. Making us better (and
better connected) museum professionals serves more than our own careers or
profession. It serves our fellow citizens and our communities.

We have two outstanding speakers to help guide us in this journey - Stephen
Weil and B. Joseph Pine II. And, of course, we'll have all the important
trimmings - the Resource Hall, overflowing with fantastic exhibitors; full
and half-day workshops; free or discounted admission to local museums;
behind the scenes bus trips to out-lying museums; special programs for
Directors and Presidents; and a great silent auction.

You can see why we hope you are planning to join us.
