Dear US and Canadian Library/Archives/Museum Studies Recent Graduate,

We recently received a Collaborative Planning Grant through the
Institute of Museum and Library Services Laura Bush 21st Century
Librarians Program. We are partnering with the American Indian Library
Association on a curriculum-planning project called Indigenous Ways.

As a start, we want to assess the degree of awareness of indigenous
ways among recent graduates of library/archives/museum programs. By
recent graduate we mean someone who completed their program within the
last 5 years or May 2008 or more recently. Professionals in these
fields have been examining the intersection between cultural protocols
of indigenous peoples and professional values in holding, collecting,
providing access, and using indigenous intellectual content. This
assessment will help us consider the development of sharable
curricular content for educators, along with a strategy for
incorporating this information into the education of future cultural
heritage professionals.

We hope that you will assist us in this important project by
completing and submitting this survey by Friday, May 10, 2013.

To participate in the study, simply follow the URL below.

Electronically submitting your completed survey connotes your consent
to be a participant in this study.

We expect that it will take from 15 to 25 minutes of your time to
complete the questionnaire. We will not tie any opinions you might
share in a way that identifies you or your educational program as the
respondent. By completing this survey, we understand that you are
giving us permission to share your answers in reports and talks about
Indigenous Ways.

To learn more about the Indigenous Ways Project, please see the
project?s website:

Thank you for your assistance.
