Das Urkloster kommt nach Dalheim

Der Landschaftsverband Westfalen Lippe (LWL) prdsentiert das europdische
Urkloster in seiner Dalheimer Klosterkirche: Eine gro_e
Dokumentationsausstellung zeichnet die |ber 1200jdhrige Geschichte der Abtei
St. Gallen nach, die als Keimzelle der Klosteridee auf dem europdischen
Kontinent gilt. Fotos, ein Modell des Stiftsbezirkes sowie Nachbildungen von
mittelalterlichen Siegeln und von Kapitellen machen die lange
Klostergeschichte anschaulich. Nicht fehlen d|rfen Kopien von alten
Handschriften und B|chern. Schlie_lich geno_ die St. Gallener
Schreibwerkstatt im Mittelalter einen hervorragenden Ruf.
St. Gallen verdankt sein weltber|hmtes Kloster einer Krankheit: Um 612 kam
Gallus mit weiteren irischen Mvnchen nach Bregenz. Als die anderen Mvnche
weiterzogen, blieb er krank zur|ck und lie_ sich als Einsiedler nieder. 719
errichtete der Alemanne Otmar am Ort des Gallusgrabes ein Kloster, von dem
sich die Klosteridee |ber den ganzen europdischen Kontinent ausbreitete.

Die Ausstellung "Die Kultur der Abtei St. Gallen" ist von Dienstag, 20.
April, bis zum 30. Mai  zu den |blichen Vffnungszeiten des Kloster Dalheims
gevffnet: tdglich au_er montags von 10 bis 18 Uhr. Der Eintritt ist frei.

The ancient monastery comes to Dalheim

The landscape federation of Westphalia and Lippe (Landschaftsverband
Westfalen-Lippe/LWL) presents the European ancient monsatery in its Dalheim
monastic church: A large documentation exhibition shows the 1200 years of
the history of the abbey of St. Gallen, which is considered as germ cell of
the monastery idea on the European continent. Photos, a model of the
monasterial district as well as reproductions of medieval seals and of
capitals make long monastery history descriptive. Copies of old handwritings
and books may not be missed, because the St. Gallen writing workshop enjoyed
an outstanding call in the Middle Ages . St. Gallen owed its world-famous
monastery of an illness: Around 612 Gallus with further Irish monks came to
Bregenz. When the other monks walked further, he remained ill and
established themselves as an a settler. The Alemanne Otmar established 719
at the place of the grave of Gallus a monastery , from which the monasterial
idea spread over the whole European continent.

The exhibition " the culture of the abbey of St. Gallen " is opened from
Tuesday, 20 April, up to 30. May to the usual times of the monastery of
Dalheim : daily except on Mondays from 10 to 18 o'clock. The entrance is
free.
