For our significant corporate collection client we are seeking a
Collections Assistant.
The successful candidate will assist the Collections Manager
with all aspects of managing a collection of fine and decorative art
spanning the 18th through contemporary art. 
The ideal applicant will follow up on the purchase, consignment
and sales of fine and decorative art and antiques; oversee all
related documentation, research, shipping, storage, etc; liaise
with financial staff to produce financial records, sales tax
returns, etc; order office supplies and oversee office maintenance;
produce monthly insurance reports and keep inventory; other duties
as required.
BA in art history and a strong general knowledge of fine and
decorative art is essential.  Excellent database skills, particularly
Outlook, Excel and MSWord, are required. Salary DOE with benefits.

+++ Specialist in Books & Manuscripts +++
For our internationally renowned auction house client, we are
seeking a Specialist in Books & Manuscripts.
The successful candidate will work with the Department Head
to create and maintain client relationships and consignments;
research and catalogue works for public and private sales;
review inquiries for consignment opportunities; serve as a primary
liaison for outside experts; prepare condition reports and
conservation evaluations; coordinate marketing efforts;
assist in pre-sale exhibition set-up; assist clients in the galleries
during sale week; other duties as necessary.
Some travel required.
The ideal candidate will have strong general knowledge of
books, manuscripts, documents and related items and at least
2-4 years work as a Junior Specialist or in a related field.
BA in art history required, MA preferred. 
Excellent communications, interpersonal and organizational
skills essential.  Salary 45-55K with excellent benefits.
