Perhaps another small museum might be of help to us. Under a new president,
a private college near here has agreed to establish a relationship with our
museum by which certain students (probably seniors) would be designated
interns for independent work with this museum, and to fulfill course
requirements. Initially this will involve only its history department. We
are an historical museum. The history faculty is being "led" by the new
administration into off-campus educational links.

Does anyone have a "model" for such a program? At the museum, we know what
to expect of the interns that would be mutually beneficial. At the
college's history department, this is rather novel, and may require
establishing an upper-level "independent study" credit course for interested
and qualified students.

The academic model is what we need. Naturally, it would be adapted to local
circumstances. I have previously established similar internships for
graduate students at a state university, but that model wouldn't fit.

Thanks for any help someone can provide!
