If you are looking at the United States, some key studies are:

Adapting to Abundance : Jewish Immigrants, Mass Consumption, and the Search
for American Identity (Columbia History of Urban Life) (1990)
by Andrew R. Heinze

and two books by Jenna Joselit (the second is really an exhibition
catalog)::

The Wonders of America : Reinventing Jewish Culture 1880-1950
Jenna Weissman Joselit / Paperback / Published 1996

Getting Comfortable in New York : The American-Jewish Home, 1880-1950
Susan L. Braunstein, Jenna Weissman Joselit (Editor )

Also:
The exhibit catalog for the National Museum of Jewish History's (here in
Phila.) permanent exhibition is available from the University Press of New
England, Creating American Jews: Historical Conversations about Identity.
I haven't actually seen this volume, though I have seen the exhibit which
deals with the (re) invention of Jewish culture in America.

The forthcoming volume, from the publishers ad which I received looks like
it may be of interest as well:
Jewish Life and American Culture
by Sylvia Barack Fishman
Paperback (May 2000)
State University of New York; ISBN: 0791445461
