You should seal all case materials with a chemical and/or vapor barrier
sealant. Marvalseal has been around for years and is falling out of use due
to the cost of its labor intensive application. It is an excellent product,
but once it is penetrated the substrate will still off gas.

A new product is Extira, which we have started to use in place of Medex and
Medite II. It is more costly and often limited in availability. This may be
an alternative. I have no information on its oddy results, but fabricators
are making bold claims.

Of course, scavengers and moisture control agents should always be
considered. They are numerous and well known.

I would still use the most inert and cost effective substrate available to
you though.
