_POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT_
 
SENIOR EXHIBITION DESIGNER/COORDINATOR
 
The Brooklyn Children's Museum seeks an experienced, innovative designer of
interactive, educational exhibitions. Primary duties are the design and
production management of interactive exhibitions. Responsibilities include
prototyping, fabrication, and managing the ongoing maintenance of exhibitions.
 
REQUIREMENTS:
-- Proven skills in 3-dimensional design and drafting.
-- Minimum of 3 years relevant experience; demonstrated knowledge of
interactive exhibit methods.
-- Ability to take exhibits through all stages of development, including
concept development, design, and fabrication.
-- Prior experience in project management and team exhibition planning.
-- Familiarity with graphic design and production methods.
-- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
 
DESIRABLE:
-- B.A. in sculpture, industrial design, architectural or environmental design.
-- Strong technical skills in woodworking, metalworking, plastics, lighting and
electrical work; experience with electronic and mechanical systems.
-- Working knowledge of exhibit prototyping, audio-visual program design, and
conservation methods.
