Terms of position:  One internship for 26 weeks from mid-May to mid-November. Work week is Monday through Friday with alternating weekend duty and compensatory time off.  988 total hours for the entire length of the internship based on a 38 hour work week.      

Location:  Homestead Prairie Farm, a circa 1860 living history house museum, is located on the grounds of  the Rock Springs Conservation Area (a 1300 acre riverine forest and prairie park) near the city of Decatur, Illinois. It is administered by the staff of the Macon County Conservation District with assistance from volunteers.  For more information on the conservation district go to:  www.maconcountyconservation.org 

Salary/Stipend/Housing:  $8.75/hour at 38 hours/week. Intern also receives a $250 monthly housing stipend payment.  No on-site housing is available but site is near Decatur, Illinois.
