I am currently conducting research on the University of Oregon Museum of
Arts Musevening program. Musevening is an adult program offered every
Wednesday of the month. The museum is open until 8:PM this evening and
admission is free (the museum usually closes at 5:00). The goals of the
program are to increase and diversify the museum audience, to provide an
environment where people feel comfortable and want to return, and to serve
as an agent for social change.
My first question is, are there other University museums that offer
similar programs? What are their goals? How often are their programs
offered?
My second area in question is if anyone has suggestions of Adult Museum
Program resources. I have been to the library and found many of the
American Association of Museums studies. However it seems Adult
Programming in museums is a limited researched area. Please let me know if
I have been mistaken. I would be very interested in individual
organization studies that have been conducted surrounding Adult Programs.
My apologies to anyone who may be offended at my asking colleagues for
resource suggestions but I have already done a thorough library search and
would appreciate any additional information.

Thank you.
