Museum-L remains spam free because of the way the list is configured, a
combination of self-moderation and active moderators. The term SPAM refers
to unsolicited commercial e-mail. In other words, you have no prior business
relationship with the sender, and you did not specifically request to be on
the list.

On the other hand, lists such as Museum-L and all Yahoo Groups use a double
opt-in. In other words, you subscribe to the list, then you are asked to
confirm your desire to join the list.

MuseJobs does not send out spam.  Any museum job postings that Indigo or
others may forward to the list is appropriate for Museum-L.
