The Columbus Landmarks Foundation is accepting applications for an Executive
Director.  The Executive Director is the chief operating officer of the
organization and is responsible for the administration, marketing, public
relations and development of an established nonprofit organization dedicated
to preservation and supporting community action in historic preservation and
urban design.

Duties:  Serve as chief operating officer for the organization. Coordinate the
development and implementation of the annual work program.  Create and
administer programs designed to increase membership.  Coordinate the annual
meeting of the membership and prepare agendas and all other materials for
monthly board meetings.  Serve as chair of development committee, develop the
budget and coordinate and implement the annual fund campaign.  Prepare grant
proposals and reports, identify potential donors and coordinate donor
solicitation.  Develop strategic plan for organization.  Serve as primary
spokesperson and develop and maintain media list.  Identify, develop, and
maintain cooperative relationships with community organizations, foundations,
elected officials, community leaders and the media.  Coordinate and publish
binmonthly newsletter and annual report.

Qualifications:  A four-year degree minimum in a discipline related to
downtown development, urban planning, historic preservation, architecture,
public administration, or a similar field with experience in nonprofit
management.  Candidates must be self-motivated and have strong leadership,
verbal, and written communication and interpersonal skills.  Applicants must
have management experience including developing, implementing, and evaluating
organizational programs, budget preparation and administration; proven
fundraising and grantsmanship experience, marketing, public relations.
resource development experience and ability to work with volunteers, community
leaders, business people, government leaders and agencies; computer skills,
including word processing, finanical database management, and the internet.
Preferred:  knowledge of historic preservation ideas, issues, and tools.
Salary:  $24,000-28,000.  Work schedule includes evening and weekend hours.
