The Library of the National Museum of American Art and the National
Portrait Gallery (NMAA/NPG library), Smithsonian Institution, also
received some of Dr. Baird's collection from his estate after his death
in 1992. The Ferdinand Perret Research Library has been at the NMAA/NPG
Library for decades. The National Collection of Fine Arts changed its
name to The National Museum of American Art in 1980.
