The Museum is a leading cultural facility and cultural resource in
Australia, with an extensive collection representing the fields of science,
technology, social history and decorative arts.  We are seeking a highly
skilled and motivated person who is keen to contribute to the further
development of the Museum's position as Australia's largest and most diverse
Museum.  You will be required to provide leadership to and manage the
functions of the Collections and Museum Services Division of the Museum in
order to support the Museum's mission and achievement of its corporate
goals.

To fulfil this demanding yet rewarding role, you will have proven management
experience and a record of achievement at a senior level in cultural
institutions.  You will have an extensive background in and detailed
knowledge and understanding of the principles and issues concerning
collection development and research, conservation, registration, and the
interpretation and presentation of the collection particularly through
exhibitions and education and visitor programs.  You will have superior
people and financial management skills and experience, and have proven
leadership and change management skills.  You will have superior
communication and interpersonal skills.  You will have a proven track record
of providing high level authoritative advice to your Chief Executive and
Board.  You will have a commitment to the implementation of equity and
cultural diversity principles in the workplace and a proven capacity to
integrate this into your work.  Tertiary qualifications in an area related
to the museum's collection and its management are highly desirable.

Remuneration package within the range of $97,985 - $106,465 pa on a five
year contract.
