The Swedish Historical Society is seeking a half-time Executive Director with good organizational and communications skills to work with its Board of Directors and volunteers to operate its Erlander Home Museum and Society programs.  Annual events include a Midsommar Festival, a children’s Swedish language and culture camp, and a St. Lucia Festival.  The Erlander Home Museum is a fourteen room, Italianate style home built for the John Erlander family in 1871.  Responsibilities of the Executive Director include:  coordinating volunteers, participating in the planning of events and programs, fund raising including grant writing, preserving the home museum and its collection, designing exhibits, and conducting tours.  The museum is open to the public Wednesday-Friday 1pm to 4pm and Sundays 2pm to 4pm.  Desire applicants with related experience and\or a BA in history or museum studies.  Annual salary range: $10,000 -$13,000 for half time.  Beginning date is negotiable.
