'ONE NATION' HERITAGE? THE POLITICS OF CONSENSUAL REPRESENTATIONS OF THE
PAST - 30 January - King's Manor, YORK

This is just to inform list members of the above interdisciplinary day
conference which is taking place at the King's Manor, Exhibition square,
YO1 2EP, UNITED KINGDOM on Friday, 30 January 1998:

Among the questions to be considered:

-Is 'one-nation' possible or an anachronism in the present climate?
-Does the history of represenations of 'the nation' or its constituent
parts have anything to tell us about the current rebranding of 'Britain
Plc'?
How can we forge a 'national' heritage that is inclusive rather than
exclusive?
