The Pember Museum located in Granville, New York (northeastern New York on
the Vermont/Mass border)  has an opening for Museum Educator
(Teacher-Naturalist) for the museum and its associated Hebron Nature
Preserve.  The position involves responsibility for developing interpretive
and educational programs, conducting research in preparing interpretive
material and providing instruction to the general public, school and other
groups on the nature and significance of Museum collections.  Work is
performed under the general supervision of the Museum Director with the
Museum Educator exercising independent judgment in carrying out assignments.

Responsibilities include:
· Conducting interpretive programs for scheduled groups and the general
public
· Conducting outreach programs at area schools, libraries and other sites
using loan kits and related materials
· Supervision of Staff and maintenance of 125 acre Nature Preserve and one
room schoolhouse/nature center
· Scheduling of programs at the Museum, Preserve and off site
· Assisting in the planning and development of educational programs and
activities
·  Planning, implementing and supervising summer nature day camps and other
summer programs at the Preserve
· Evaluating Museum programming
· Assisting in the care and maintenance of Museum collections and Preserve
facilities
· supervision of Museum and Preserve volunteers, contract staff and interns
· Maintaining files and records of educational activities and vouchers for
materials
· Assisting in the stocking and selling of objects in the Museum store

The Museum Educator will work a minimum of 25 hours per week on schedules
set in advance by the Museum Director, including time required for Museum
and Preserve programs and special events.  Occasional evening and weekend
work is required. The Museum Educator will participate in professional
development activities as approved by the Museum Director. Send cover
