Worth it, if it gets people involved with the museum. We have a successful
"Celebration of the Old-Fashioned Home Baked Pie" each fall (natural
ingredients only) that nets around $1,000 but in its third year has become a
community fixture. This spring we organized a plant exchange and sale --
gardeners love to share their perennials and talk about them, especially
when they are unusual to the region. The local Rotary has a bean luncheon
as a fundraiser (Pinto beans and cornbread) that is also successful. No
health problems yet.
