Internships 2000

1.      Collections (2):  Interns will assist with collections data entry
utilizing Past Perfect software, photograph scanning, inventory
reconciliation, and other projects and activities as needed.  In addition,
two days a week will be spent giving interpretive tours of Aspen and the
Ashcroft Ghost Town.

A background in museum studies is preferred.  A strong interest in
collections is required.

2.      Education (3):  Intern duties will include implementation of educational
programming such as Playing-with-the-Past for preschoolers, Brown Bag Lunch
Lectures, crafts programs, and the archaeology and architecture programs for
kids.  Other projects may include revision of our Traveling Trunks,
development of program assessment tools, and the development of a new
educational program. In addition, two days a week will be spent giving
interpretive tours of Aspen and the Ashcroft Ghost Town.

A background or course work in education is required for this position.

3.      Marketing, Development, and PR Intern (1):  Intern duties include
assistance with implementation of existing marketing and development
projects. Other projects will include market research and data collection.
In addition, two days a week will be spent giving interpretive tours of
Aspen and the Ashcroft Ghost Town.

A background in marketing or journalism is preferred; and good writing
skills are required.
