Manager of Merchandising Systems

The Metropolitan Museum of Art, one of the world's finest museums, seeks a Manager of Merchandising Systems in the Information Systems & Technology Department.  This position will oversee and manage IS&T support for the Merchandise Group.  Primary responsibilities include: conducting project planning for IS&T during the Merchandise Systems installation and implementation and coordinating and managing the activities of IS&T resources during the Merchandise Systems Project; participating with the Merchandise Systems Project team in developing the functionality, environment, and integration of the new Merchandise Systems; overseeing and coordinating the development of the physical systems environment for Merchandising Systems and working with IS&T resources to establish, maintain, and manage that environment; overseeing and managing the on-going support and development of Merchandise Systems, and other related duties.   

Successful candidates will have five or more years experience in managing and supporting merchandising systems in a multi-channel retail environment.  Must have familiarity with and knowledge of Merchandising Systems applications, (JDA, Commercialware preferred), as well as experience with the Merchandising Systems technical environment.  Must have proven ability to plan and execute complex, multi-level projects.  Strong written and verbal communication skills required.  Must have ability to work as part of a collaborative team and to work independently.  Must have knowledge of Windows operating systems (NT/2000/XP); Microsoft SQL-Server; Seagate Crystal Reports; Microsoft Project; Microsoft Excel; other software skills a plus.
