As a long time lurker, I finally got up the courage to put my two cents in.
I graduated from a Masters Program in Anthropology in Denver in 98. I have
worked many part time jobs and/or interships before, during and immediately
after graduation. I then took a directors position in a small town in
Kentucky and I am the only full time paid employee. I enjoy what I do and I
feel that I can do it well. My only wish is that I had more professional
museum people to discuss issues with.

This list has helped a great deal in maintaining my sanity. I enjoy working
with volunteers but occasionally one needs to talk to people who have left
that small town and who have similiar professional interests. What am I
saying ? In short, I think that museum graduates can leave the big cities
and head for the small towns but in the larger cities there is usually a
network of newer and younger museum professionals who can get together,
network and discover mentors.

Well there is my two cents....
