Artists & Museum Manager, New York City Gallery
For our renowned New York City contemporary gallery client we are seeking an
Artists & Museum Manager.  This position oversees two junior Artist Liaisons
who in turn serve as primary contacts for the gallery's stable of artists in
managing logistics, timetables, shipping, finances and sales surrounding
gallery shows, artists commissions, art fairs, appearances and special
events.  The Artists and Museum Manager will work with artists on an
individual basis to develop long term "big picture" strategies for career
development; work with Liaisons to organize meetings, dinners and events to
introduce artists to curators and other institutional representatives;
liaise with the Head of Programming and independent curators to help
transition in new artists; other duties as needed.  The position also
involves strengthening the gallery's overall relationships with museums and
curators by developing long-term relationships; apprising curators of
upcoming exhibitions and projects; working closely with the Sales Director
to increase museum sales; increase general gallery visibility in museum
circles by attending relevant events; establish, oversee and execute the
gallery's museum giving policy and budget.  The ideal candidate will have at
least 4 years experience in a contemporary art gallery or auction house in a
similar position.  Excellent communications, organizational and project
management skills are essential.  BA and knowledge of art history required;
languages a plus.  Salary to 75K with excellent benefits.  Please send
