The Science Museum of Minnesota asked its local Mong refugee community to
build a permanent exhibition on its culture.

The many ethnic communities of Milwaukee contributed mightily to the European
village in the Milwaukee Public Museum.

Also in Milwaukee, local Native Americans directed the museum's new powwow
exhibit to the extent of making the costume themselves and having casts of
their own faces on the mannequins.
