   The new science centers have provoked a large debate about
   "collections" as a central part of the museum mission.  I've mentioned
   this before, but there is a heated exchange of letters between Alan
   Friedman of the Hall of Science and Bob McDonald of the Museum of the
   City of NY in Curator Magazine from around 93 or 94, addressing
   precisely this point.
