Director of Education and Community Programs

WALKER ART CENTER, Minneapolis, MN seeks a Director of Education and
Community Programs to provide creative leadership for the Education and
Community Programs departments' four divisions:  School and Tour Programs,
Public and Interpretive Programs, Community and Family Programs, and Teen
Programs.  This senior position will direct and strengthen the interpretive
programs for the center's Visual Arts, Film/Video, and Performing Arts
departments; explore both traditional and creative education models to
actively engage new and diverse audiences; identify funding strategies that
capitalize on educational collaboration with other programming departments;
and manage a staff of 14 and a program budget of over $600K. Qualifications
include 5+ years organizational, leadership, and management experience
developing, promoting, and funding education projects and a degree
(advanced preferred) in art education, art history, media technologies, or
other education disciplines.  Knowledge of contemporary art, multicultural
museum education, community partnerships, and/or new interactive
technologies required. Grantwriting and fiscal management experience a
must. Excellent salary, benefits, and relocation available.
